On August 2nd, Stephen & Jennifer were married at the St. Mark's Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach. The reception was held at Park Prive in Costa Mesa. While I work on editing the full DVD, here is a sneak peak at their highlight reel, set to the music of their first dance: "Your Song" by Elton John. The wedding's photographer was Jesse Mergenthaler.

Here are some pics from behind the scenes at PSSI Studios, where we had the final day of shooting for the HRM shoot that I worked on as Assistant Director. The set before any lights. I'm the one hidden behind a light. The other guy was our sound guy, Eric Storlie. Here is Director Jared Bentley behind the camera. He shot the project as well. That's me in the background. The HRM shoot is done. The three days went off without a hitch. Working as a 1st AD can be an extremely taxing job with long hours and a lot of work just keeping everything in place and on time. But it is easy when you get to work with a talented and experienced crew that has worked together for years. Every day was ahead of schedule and we even found time to shoot a couple additional exteriors to help expand the look and feel of the project. Horizon Intertainment is producing the project with director Jared Bentley for HRM , a distributor of educational videos. I'll add some pictures from the set when I can.

Today was the first day as Assistant Director for Horizon Intertainment who is producing a project for HRM , a distributor of educational videos. The day went great, finishing ahead of schedule with what looked like some great footage and performances from a talented young cast, lead by director Jared Bentley.

On Friday, I finished a new site design for Cookin With Lenny. In addition to gourmet production catering for TV and film productions, Chef Leonard Bent (aka Lenny), has been the on air chef for years on Good Day LA for Labor Day and Fourth of July shows, featuring his newest recipes. He asked me to redesign his site and I wanted to get it up before his Fourth of July appearance. The site has lots of great recipes and some Step-by-Step Recipe Videos to cook along with which were pretty much hidden in the old site. Some time soon, we will be shooting and adding lots of new Step-by-Step Recipe Videos and a few other surprises. It is still somewhat of a work in progress, with a lot of work to do on updating the old database and old CMS system which currently have some issues. Here is a shot of the 1 Comment »

After a couple major overhauls, I have settled on a look and site structure I am pretty happy with. Five Day DVD Site Five Day DVD grew out my consultant wok with the American Film Institute and several local high schools. I ended up developing a fairly comprehensive training program based on teaching beginners everything they need to complete a large DVD yearbook project over the course of a five day workshop. Five Day DVD, was created with Wordpress, a great blog system that allows some pretty complex customization.

I recently redesigned this site and updated most of the pages using css and html. I also re-built the logo from the ground up to take the old orange design and match the new red layout. ContactSAAV.org

North Hollywood High School held their Career Day on June 5th and invited me to take part. I had two class periods, each about an hour long. It was just enough time to run through an accelerated version of the 'Shooting the Scene' exercise at the center of our Five Day DVD Workshop.Each class was split into two groups. We only had one camera so one group shot while the other had a brief Q&A. It was their day to ask questions about careers, so they all had lots of great questions about what it was like to work as a filmmaker, editor, director, videographer and so on. Then they switched and the second group shot and the first group asked questions. Each group had only fifteen minutes to shoot, but they all completed their scenes - some with time to spare.
